Project 1:

For my Project 1, "Not so still life"  I'm going to do a small baking video of me baking brownies.

September 7th- I practiced taking videos on my DSLR camera around campus.  I decided to practice some close up shots by filming some geese in a creek on campus.

September 7th -

Today I began filming my video. I wasn't able to get the brownie mix I needed from Walmart, so I improvised with a mug treat brownie mix for my video. I began piecing the video parts together in class. I had to cut out many pieces, which made the video too short. The video was only around 30 seconds long.

September 9th -

Today I decided to re-film my video because it was too short previously. I filmed the video with new camera angles (birds eye view) and a longer intro video. I pieced the new video pieces and the old video pieces together. Then I deleted the shots that seemed repeatitive to the story. The video turned out to be just slightly longer at 50 seconds. I was tiered of trying to get the mug treat brownie video to work with the required length, so on Friday afternoon I took a trip to Target to get the brownie mix to record my original story board idea.

September 11th - Today I decided to re-film my video again with my original story board idea. I used multiple camera angles. I also had a lot of different shots from adding different ingredients to make the brownies. However, I forgot to get a tripod for my camera from the library. Trying to bake one handed was  very difficult. Many of the shots were shaky because of it. (I also nearly dropped my camera into the brownie batter.) Additionally, the brownies tasted and looked terrible because I used an apple sauce substitute for the eggs. (They only had 24 packs of eggs at Target. There's no way me and my roommate can eat that much eggs. 😂)

September 13th - Today I decided to just pitch the brownie making video all together. I decided to go with my second video idea. I love spending time outside and taking photos of nature, so I decided to take a video of my stuffed animal hedgehog exploring nature. I decided to shoot the video near a pond that is near my residence hall.

September 19th - Today I made more edits for my video. I cropped/zoomed into the shots to remove my hands out of the shots for when I was trying to make the hedgehog walk. Then I added video transitions. Additionally, I changed the brightness and contrast in some video clips. I also added a music recording from Adobe stock audio.
